#616 - Our World

Location: 1st Floor, Center Hallway

Division: Adult | Exhibited by: Self

Category: Original Design | Technique: Surface Embroidery

Artist Statement: I have been a textile artist for several years. I have navigated the world of fiber through

weaving, stitching, dyeing and other mediums. I enjoy creating art in other mediums as well such as

painting, drawing and mixed media. Stitching gives me the opportunity to express myself. I get inspiration

from watching art videos. When stitching I often use images of items that bring me joy such as dresses,

fruits and hearts.

Location: Halloween Room (2nd Floor Landing)

Division: Adult | Exhibited by: In Stitches

Category: Commercial Design | Technique: Counted Thread: Cross-Stitch

Commercial Pattern/Designer: Mani di Donna - "Five Little Pumpkins Pillows"

Artist Statement: This project reminded me of my kids' preschool days. When I found the little fence box, I

knew they were meant to go together. I made minor corrections to word and line spacing as well as changing

recommended fabrics to make the pillows closer in size to one another. Set of 3 pillows "Five Little

Pumpkins" poem in/on a white fence stand. Pillow 1: orange 40 ct. linen - 6"Wx4"H Pillow 2: black 32 ct.

linen - 6"Wx5"H Pillow 3: grey 32 ct. linen - 5-1/2"Wx3-1/2"H.

#112 - LOVE-ly Gnomes

Location: 1st Floor, Center Hallway

Division: Adult | Exhibited by: In Stitches

Category: Commercial Design | Technique: Counted Thread: Cross-Stitch

Thread Count: 13

Commercial Pattern/Designer: Autumn Lane Stitchery - "LOVE-ly Gnomes" - Just Cross Stitch, February

2021, p. 46

Artist Statement: This was such a fun stitch because I went about it completely backwards. I found a frame

that I loved on clearance (scratch & dent) at my LNS for $3, and I had a yard of mystery linen from an estate

sale that I got for $1. I set out to find a way to use them both when my issue of Just Cross Stitch came. The

colors of the gnomes complemented the frame, but they were not wide enough to fill the frame once

stitched. I created a fifth gnome to go with her friends. At some point I happened upon the perfect button

to finish them off.

#822 - Fiji in the Bush

Location: Pets Room (2nd Floor, Blue Bedroom)

Division: Adult | Exhibited by: Self

Category: Original Design | Technique: Surface Embroidery

Artist Statement: This is a photo of our German Shepherd, yes she is! She is not your typical Shepherd. She

was the only one of her litter to flunk out of search and rescue, she is solid black, her ears refuse to stand up,

and she has the longest tail you have ever seen. Her breeder just didn't know what to do with her, so she

called us and said, "she needs a good home." Here name is Fiji, and we love her. She identifies as a Labrador

Retriever.

Category: Commercial Design | Technique: Counted Thread: Sampler - Traditional

Artist Statement: "Adopted" the kit at a chapter meeting I visited, attracted by the design despite the fact

the wrong color!
