Tour Information
All tours must check-in at Woodlawn. Pope-Leighey House is a five minute walk from Woodlawn.
Please plan arrival time accordingly.
Woodlawn & Pope-Leighey House tours are open for the season from April 17 through December 30, 2025. The site is open Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Guided tours of each house are offered at
10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM, 2:00 PM, & 3:00 PM
Visitors can also tour both sites in one visit with a Combo Tour at
10:00 AM & 2:00 PM

Plan to be on site for up to 1-1.5 hours if you are taking one tour and up to 2-2.5 hours if you are taking both tours.
The grounds of Woodlawn & Pope-Leighey are open to the public during normal business hours free of charge.

Discounted Tickets
Given the extreme need for food assistance we are seeing in our area, beginning Thursday, November 13, Woodlawn & Pope-Leighey House will be a food collection and distribution site. With the help of our partners and visitors, Woodlawn will provide non-perishable, shelf stable foods in small food cabinets outside our front gates for people to access at any time and in our parking lot when we are open to the public.
Each visitor who brings a canned good to the Woodlawn admissions desk will receive a 10% discount off their individual tour admission price. If a family of four brings four cans of food, each visitor receives the 10% discount. Guests are encouraged to increase their donation of canned goods so that we may help as many people as possible at this time.
Available for in person purchases. Federal employees simply need to show their federal employee ID to receive 50% off admission for their entire family. Valid through the end of 2025.
We are participating in a statewide VA250 promotion commemorating the 250th anniversary of the founding of the nation. Visitors receive 15% off admission for each passport presented. Passports are stamped by our admissions desk staff (stamp provided). There are five signature Passport sites where visitors can pick up passports including Mount Vernon. Woodlawn & Pope-Leighey House are proud to participate in the Museums For All program, an initiative of the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Through Museums for All, those receiving food assistance (SNAP benefits) can gain reduced admission to Woodlawn and Pope-Leighey House.
Visitors can purchase $2 tickets for up to four people to attend Combination Tours of both Woodlawn and Pope-Leighey House by simply showing their EBT card and a photo ID at our admissions desk. Tours are available on a first come first serve basis and Museums for All tickets may only be purchased in person. Up to four $2 tickets may be purchased on one EBT card. National Trust for Historic Preservation members receive one FREE single house or combo tour admission.
Please purchase your full-priced ticket online. When you arrive at Woodlawn & Pope-Leighey House, present your membership card at the front desk, and you will be provided the appropriate discounted refund through the online ticketing system at that time.
