This season, contemporary artist Rachel Hayes brings her bold, vibrant textile installations to Woodlawn & Frank Lloyd Wright’s Pope-Leighey House.

In Wandering Geometry, Gathered Light color takes center stage. Set between two remarkable houses with distinct architectural styles and layered histories, this outdoor exhibition creates an electric conversation between contemporary art, architecture, and landscape. Wander from Woodlawn to Pope-Leighey House, follow the color, and see these familiar places in a whole new light.

Rachel Hayes is a textile and installation artist based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She holds an MFA in Painting from Virginia Commonwealth University. Her work has been exhibited in museums and galleries around the world, with large-scale installations photographed in landscapes across the globe. She has collaborated with fashion houses Armani and Missoni, and more recently with musicians Bon Iver and Olivia Rodrigo. Hayes is a recipient of the Joan Mitchell Fellowship, a Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Professional Fellowship, a Virginia Commission for the Arts Fellowship, and will present upcoming work at Aspen Ideas Festival.
