Woodlawn and Frank Lloyd Wright's Pope-Leighey House offers a variety of outdoor locations with beautiful gardens, a stunning historic mansion, a brand new event tent with permanent flooring, and gorgeous views.
In 1799, George Washington gave Woodlawn to his step-grand-daughter, Eleanor "Nelly" Custis and his nephew, Lawrence Lewis, as a wedding present. Throughout Nelly's lifetime and into the twentieth century, Woodlawn was renowned for the gracious hospitality of its hosts and the beauty of its historic and pastoral setting. We invite you to continue this tradition by holding your own event at this beautiful estate.

Wedding Catering by ROUGE Fine Catering
Woodlawn & Pope-Leighey House has partnered with Rouge Fine Catering to host all catered events on the historic site. ROUGE Fine Catering focuses on delivering fresh, innovative, and world-class cuisine. This philosophy has made ROUGE one of the DC metro area’s largest and most sought after caterers.
Led by Chef and Owner Jonathan Soudry, ROUGE opened its doors in 2007 and quickly gained distinction and esteem. In his quest for the ideal culinary service, Chef Soudry skillfully combines over 35 years of professional experience with his native French culinary training to bring our clients gourmet, restaurant quality food in place of traditional “catering” food. Chef Soudry has built an elite team at ROUGE Fine Catering that is enthusiastic and dedicated to providing you with a memorable event.
Pricing and Information
For your wedding, we will reserve designated space on our property, including a choice of ceremony sites (if needed), our Fountain Garden space, and a beautiful tented area, on your selected date, for your exclusive use between the hours of 5:00 PM – 11:00 PM.

In addition to the property rental cost, there is a tent package fee which includes use of our luxurious on-site tent situated on a permanent, oyster-shell and brick floor. The event tent package is part of the exclusive catering partnership between Woodlawn and Rouge Fine Catering. The cost-effective package provides you with the spacious, beautiful tent (with fabric -lined ceiling and chandelier lighting already a part), as well as all of your tables, chairs, additional lighting, and staging.
For renting the grounds or interior of the small and iconic Frank Lloyd Wright- designed Pope-Leighey House, there is a separate pricing schedule. Please speak with your Rouge Fine Catering specialist for more information!

CEREMONY + RECEPTION:
We have a variety of stunning locations on our property that are designed to accommodate up to 350 guests for a wedding ceremony.
Reception: Tent capacity is 250 for a table seated reception, 350 for a cocktail - style reception.
Includes access to Woodlawn's exterior property from 5 PM-11 PM, and Bridal Suite & Groomsmen's Room beginning at 2 PM the day of your event ( for bridal party only). Also includes tours of the interior of the gorgeous historic Woodlawn mansion (which was itself a wedding gift from George Washington to his ward, Nelly Custis) for 1 hour during your event cocktail hour.
