                           SUNDAY, AUGUST 27!

Third in our picnic series is our BACK TO SCHOOL POPE-LEIGHEY PICNIC on Sunday, August 27  1 p.m -.4 p.m.

Why Back to School, you might ask?

Loren Pope, the first owner of the Pope-Leighey House, was a journalist who was passionate about education. His book Colleges That Change Lives is enjoying its own anniversary of 20 years as one of the most provacative books for prospective college students looking to choose their school. For more than 35 years, Pope counseled students and families to help them find the right college “fit.”  Two important anniversaries in the same year!  So we are celebrating with a back-to-school family picnic on the grounds of Pope-Leighey House this August 27.  Bring a picnic and we will supply the fun, including open-house-style tours of our most favorite Frank Lloyd Wright house. We will be focused on a 'back to school' theme, including the Colleges That Change Lives mission, picnic-style. Stay tuned!
